This is very important as the cooling that is provided by air is not sufficient for the transformers especially the ones that are medium sized and in such cases, oil is used for the purpose of cooling it down as a coolant. This is the most commonly used cooling method and in this method helps to cool down the heat that is produced in the core and winding by immersing them in insulating oil.
